Weekend Renders is a passion project run by me, Andy. It is purpose driven and inspired by play.
First starting back in 2013 on a beat up laptop, I used free 3d modelling software to teach myself the basics of photography and lighting where I then applied these techniques to real life photography projects. After a few years of job hopping, I was offered a position as a freelance photographer for a leading UK homeware and fashion brand where I focused on capturing high quality imagery for both web and social media. During this time I let my passion for 3d modelling take a back seat whilst I learned all I could about real world lighting, this proved to be invaluable to my development within my career as well as my understanding of 3d rendering.
A few years passed and I was offered an interview to join a team as photographer for another global brand based in Ireland. A few months passed and then the pandemic hit the world... I couldn't leave my apartment to do real world photography so I jumped back onto my aging iMac and got back into 3d modelling. After a few months, lots of learning and many small projects, Weekend Renders was born on Instagram.
I still work full time as a studio photographer and content creator but I now balance that alongside my passion for Weekend Renders.
